Glass Art - Handmade Glass Pendant - Bubble-Dots
UPDATED 26-6-20 - Two new versions of our bubble dot pendants:
Dark purple/midnight blue: refer photos 1 and 2
Violet/amethyst: refer photos 3 and 4
This gorgeous little pendant has been lovingly handmade from scratch.
The "bubble dot" bead is around 1.5cm in width and 1cm tall. It contains several layers of glass and special techniques to create the "bubbles" within the bead; the bubbles are created by air trapped between the layers of glass.
Multiple colours in the pendant glisten in the sunlight.
The chain is made from sterling silver and is 45cm in length. A little Swarovski crystal has been added to the top of the pendant.
Selma Rainey is a self-taught lampwork artist, and she has been designing and making glass beads for thirteen years. Using soft glass rods, imported from Venice and a specialised "lampwork" torch, plus a kiln specially for glass (which cools down the kiln as well as annealing/hardening beads), these unique little pieces of art are created, one at a time.
