This special "mushroom" is unique to Aotearoa and its scientific name is Entoloma hochstetteri. Due to its stunning shade, a gorgeous vibrant blue, it resembles the wattle of kõkako, hence its Māori name is werewere kõkako.
You can purchase a single mushroom or a cluster of three mushrooms.
Each mushroom has a small stake attached so you can insert into soil/sand or small pebbles. Mushrooms are approximately 4cm tall (excluding stake).
These mushrooms have been handcrafted using Venetian glass in a deep blue by a process called lampwork. The addition of enamel to the top of the cap creates a more vibrant blue to the piece.
The gills on the underside of the mushroom have been made with a specialised mold, and the rest of the mushroom has been made free-form. Each mushroom is slightly different for this reason.
Please note that these pieces take 5 to 8 business days to make (excluding shipping).
